Welcome to the Mystique of the Soutpansberg
We are situated in the northern part of South Africa high up in the Soutpansberg Mountain Range between Makhado (Louis Trichardt) and Vivo. The area is famous for its breathtaking mountain scenery, pristine wilderness character and close proximity to other tourism destinations. This includes the Tuli Wilderness Area in Botswana, the Mapungubwe National Park and Archaeological Site on the Limpopo River, Venda, the Land of Legend, Blouberg, Magabeng Plateau and the Kruger National Park. Lajuma is Malaria free.
Lajuma has been declared a Natural heritage Site and forms part of a private wilderness area within the proposed Vhembe Biosphere Reserve. We have beautiful mountain scenery, a variety of veld types including montane forests and montane grasslands, clear mountain streams with waterfalls and interesting archaeological sites. The area has a remarkable diversity of plants and rare animals such as Narina Trogon, Crested Guineafowl, Sykes Monkey and Red Duiker. Leopard are relatively abundant but are rarely seen.
